I saw the pilot and it's awesome! Can't wait for the series to start!

There's been at least one TV series taking a whimsical look at high fantasy: Wizards and Warriors, from 1983, starring Jeff ("Taxi") Conaway as the hero, Julia ("Newhart") Duffy as the rather dizzy princess, and Duncan Regehr as the very charismatic villain ("Is it getting hot in here?" asks the princess when he looms nearby). It tended towards the slapstick, but also featured some surprisingly good characterizations; sadly, it didn't last long, and so far I don't think there are any (legit, anyway) DVDs available.
